'The Possibilities' - A film by Akshaya Patra

[starttext]  'The Possibilities' - A film by Akshaya Patra

We are writing to you on behalf of The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The organization is engaged in providing mid-day meals to children across the country. Recently, we created a film titled, ‘Possibilities’, to raise awareness about their cause, and would like your help in showcasing the film to a wider audience.

As you know, there are millions of children in India who struggle every day for their daily meal. Many a time, their hunger drives them to desperation, leading them down a path no child ever ought to take. It can make them beg, force them into child labour, turn them into miscreants. Or sometimes, suffer a much worse fate.

To rescue children from this plight and bring them back to schools, the government has devised the Mid-day Meal Program. And Akshaya Patra is engaged in providing these meals to children. It is their endeavor to provide a nutritious, filling meal at schools. Feeding not just a child’s hunger, but also a child’s dreams.

This, in a nutshell, is our film’s message. To aid us in our efforts, Mr. A. R. Rahman and Viacom kindly offered us the usage of a song composed by Rahman and produced by Viacom/MTV. It sets the tone for the film and voices the inner struggle of a child. Please find enclosed the link to an exclusive preview of the film:

Through this film, we wish to draw attention to the fate of a hungry child. And move people to help. We would truly appreciate it if you could share our film, ‘Possibilities’, on your website. And help us reach out to more people and spread the message. Together we can change the future of millions of children in India.
